About Dr. Quinn

Practicing in her native St. Louis since 2010, Tanya M. Quinn, MD, is a neurosurgeon specializing in general neurosurgery, complex spine surgery, and neuro-oncology. At Neurosurgical Specialists of West County in St. Louis since January 2013, Dr. Quinn has experience providing comprehensive treatment for a wide range of complex neurosurgical conditions. 

Dr. Quinn received both her bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. After completing her education, Dr. Quinn went on to complete an internship and her residency, in neurosurgery, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She’s the first female resident to complete her training in the state of South Carolina. 

After completion of her residency, Dr. Quinn was on faculty at St. Louis University Hospital until December 2012, where she also received additional training in cerebrovascular surgery.

In addition, Dr. Quinn also provides mentorship for other women in neurosurgery, lecturing on Women in Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery, along with providing specialty training for other surgeons in methods of complex spinal surgery.  

Outside the office, Dr. Quinn is married to a member of the military and is the proud mother of two.
